Fraser J. M. Davidson - Research Scientist with Fisheries and Oceans Canada based at the North Atlantic Fisheries Centre in St. John's Newfoundland since 2003. Fraser obtained his PhD from Memorial University in 1999. He has worked at the University of New South Wales in Canberra Australia on internal tides, at the French research council LEGOS laboratories in Toulouse France and with MERCATOR-Ocean, the French ocean forecasting service in Toulouse France. His research interests include regional ocean forecasting, wind driven ocean current dynamics, validation of ocean forecast systems as well as applications of ocean forecasting to various areas of research including biology and search and rescue drift theory to name a few. Fraser participates in the DFO Centre for Ocean Model Development and Application (COMDA), a DFO virtual centre of excellence. Fraser also collaborates on the GODAE (Global Ocean Data Assimilation Experiment) science working team. Fraser is leading a DFO Pilot project CNOOFS "Canada-Newfoundland Operational Ocean Forecasting System" to implement and validate a new ocean forecasting capability for eastern Canadian waters.

Professor Gary Meyers - Director of the Integrated Marine Observing System, a distributed set of equipment and data-information services which collectively contribute to meeting the needs of marine climate research in Australia. Dr. Meyers holds a PhD in oceanography from the University of Hawaii, Honolulu. He has served as Chief Research Scientist at CSIRO Marine and Atmospheric Research, and also worked as a research oceanographer at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, La Jolla, California. He has received many awards, including the 2006 AMOS Medal for Leadership in Meteorology and Oceanography, and currently sits as the Chair of the CLIVAR/GOOS Indian Ocean Panel. Gary is currently located at the University of Tasmania in Hobart, where his interests include climate change in the Indian and Pacific Oceans and, of course, ocean observing systems.

Dr. Huseyin Yuce - Istanbul University Institute of Marine Science and Management graduated from the Turkish Naval Academy in 1970, and attended the US Naval Postgraduate School where he obtained a M.S. Degree in Physical Oceanography in 1976. Following brief postings with the Turkish Naval Academy and NATO SACLANT Undersea Research Centre, he joined to the Turkish Navy Department of Navigaiton, Hydrography and Oceanography in 1979 as Chief of Oceanography ASW Section. Meanwhile, he carried out complementary studies at the NODC USA on Oceanographic Data Management. During this period he completed a Ph.D. programme at the University of Istanbul (Institute of Marine Secience and Management) in physical and chemical oceanography. As Secretary of the National Oceanographic Coordination Board he actively worked on the National Marine Research and Monitoring Programme.
Capt. Yuce assumed the post of the Head of Department of Navigation, Hydrography and Oceanography of the Turkish Navy in 1992. In this capacity he served as Turkish Scientific Committee National Representative (SCNR) of the NATO SACLANT Undersea Research Centre.
Dr. Yuce retired in 1999 and joined the Istanbul University Institute of Marine Science and Management as a lecturer on Physical Oceanography. He currently serves as Secretary of the Black Sea MOU Secretariat based in Istanbul.
